Welding Tips and Tricks

Hi I am new to this forum and looking for advice on the best welding schools in Toronto. I graduated out from high school last year and was engaged in other jobs to earn for my welding course. I am not sure about which course to choose from for a beginner in welding and also choosing the right institution though I’ve heard of a few. I recently came to know about Wedtech training, a welding school in Toronto which has job placements. I am very confused on what to choose from. Please help me

I can't advise you specifically about schools in your area. However John (AKA "AKWeldshop") appears here from time-to-time and he might have some clues that might help you. I'm sure he'll chip in.

Also, is there a government run program in Toronto that you could explore?

We have members here in the Toronto area. Have patience, as we move at a pace more akin to a rural neighborhood than anything you'll see in other welding forums. Someone will be along with local or regional knowledge, sooner or later.

Hello fraser! I can't help you with local information, but you need to understand what type of work it is you want to end up doing? To my thinking, there are three main areas of 'welding', and those would be 1). Production manufacturing 2). Custom Fabrication 3). Field work Each area encompasses a lot of welding process, skills, knowledge, etc. Each represents a different type of work environment. Where do you see yourself? Do you want to be out on the pipelines? Building sky scrapers? Working at a local factory? Doing "one up" projects? Think all of that through, or ask more questions out here to kind of dial in your thinking.
