This piece of rectangular tubing is 66inches wide.... Made to go on the front of a loader.
The customer wants it 36inches wide.....Needs to fit on the Cat 2 3pt hitch.
I will be taking 30inches out.
Cutting (2) 15inch pieces out.
Than welding it back together....
My bandsaw will be fixed on Tuesday....
darn holidays....
I'll make a video of it if you guys don't understand the idea.

Yes - I can see what your doing - but at risk of sounding dumb why is it apparently mounted on a swivel ? also you don't appear to have much room to provide adequate support / bracing from where the top link will fix.

I'd sleeve the inside and button weld it together as well for additional support

OK - it makes sense now - sorry I did'nt see the castor wheels in the original post - this set up would usually be referred to as " semi mounted " in farm speak ! - I had assumed it would be carried up front - we had a similar set up years ago when there was a fashion for " direct injection" nitrogen - the tank similar to yours was front mounted & had a remote / hydraulic drive pump that transferred liquid to the rear tank that also had the discs / coulters & metering equipment mounted on - it came from a time when nitrogen was wanted cheaply & our biggest supplier of propane ended up with large quantities of ammonia as a by product - they could not easily get rid of it in a useful or cost effective way at that time so it was dissolved to produce aqueous ammonia & delivered at low cost to contractors that had the means to handle it - you cannot spray it or otherwise dispense it onto the surface - it had to be injected at shallow depths into the soil - everything to do with this job was a royal PITA ! & working on the equipment was no fun - I've had the misfortune to have to work inside road tankers used to transport the stuff as I could fit through the inspection hatches - the cost of this process made it un-economic as imported high % nitrogen started being imported at lowish cost - though it made a small come back in the 80's with the a trial of using dissolved urea instead - that was less nasty to handle although still quite corrosive on equipment - it was a strange sight in the hottest of summer days to drive up our yard & see a large mixing tank completely covered on the outside with ice as the reaction when the solid form is dissolved into water is endothermic.
I digress ! - as to welding - it looks straight forward - as the part is easily removed I'd take it in the shop & use Mig - if I were doing it I'd cut down a short piece of the off cut so it fits inside the box so you have essentially a backing strip on all 4 sides - then let her have it good - I see you have a set capable of spray transfer - now seems a good time to use it - I must say your getting a good variety of jobs come in .
Thumbs up on the video - size / orientation & quality all improving steadily - keep up the good work.

IMHO, a few hundred gal on those casters is pretty extreme. My solution would be to find an old axle with springs, do away with the casters and hitch, and put a tongue on it. You've got a frame to mount it all on, and if the unit is used with another piece of equipment, at least you could pull it behind the equipment if you had to. I just have a notion that the narrow wheel base on small wheels will be sunk or on its side.

Well,
One of our farmer friends has one, same thing, and he has no problems with it..
I'll give your idea some thought, and look at my options..
I'll let you all know.
Fully documented pictures.... Cause that's how I roll.

Total width is 67 3/8"....
1/2 of that is 33 11/16".
I think.

This first pic here should explain it right there.
Yep,
Now to cut it, bevel it, back it, square it, tack it and weld it.
