I saw an ad on craigslist for this 8 inch Napco Tiny Giant Fume Exhauster for $50.00 and it set off a bell in my head  for a fume extractor for my small shop 12x20. I'm in welding school 4 days a week and like to practice on weekends. As you can see in the picture's this is the quick and dirty way to get rid of the fumes. I'll do something more permanent like though the wall with shutters later in the year. If anyone could chime in on how to build shutters please share it. :?: I'm always learning and I don't have a budget for a big fume extractor but this works real slick. I burned a 7018 and it removed all.

nice set up. very simple and a lot less to go wrong.

as a note though that electric winch on your trusses scares me

Understood. It only meant to pickup 200 lbs. or so. The third hand so to speak to move steel on to my welding table or hold something long until I work with it. The picture don't show the extra support added to beef up the backside of the truss to work in shear. In the future I will add a steel bar to spread the load across 4 instead of the 2 at present.
