What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

It really depends on what type of rod you are wanting to put in the oven and to what temps you are wanting to reach.

We use to use and old smaller size fridge - quipped with a 100 watt bulb that stayed on and was thermostatically controlled. Worked fine.

Here's a trick: If your hot water heater is in a closet, keep the rod in the closet on top of the heater. It keeps the rod dry by the same principal as the gun safe "Golden Rod" type heaters, that is by being a few degrees warmer than outside the closet, moisture is pretty much displaced.
The light bulb in the fridge thing works the same way.

"water heater", you can't heat hot water, it's already hot!

rural route mail box,100 watt rough service bulb through the back and a wrap
of fiberglass over the top....it will hold a 50 lb box of 7018's and a 5lb box of6011's on the side of that one....not every one needs a refrigerator full of warm, dry welding rods....
