It may not count as a welding project but may save somebody's back--
I cut a 1/2"deep notch in a two-wheeled cart to move long heavy pieces with. You can get a 400lb beam up off the ground, wheel it through a man door and get up on sawhorses by yourself and never need to lift more than half the weight. Once it's balanced on the cart, it's almost weightless. I've acquired some equipment since starting this but still end up using the cart method half the time.
