I posted on another thread about converting a boat trailer to cargo trailer. Obviously to do this, it has to be the right trailer to start with. The boat trailer had 2x4x11ga rec tube. The red trailer below I bought from a manufacturer had the 1-1/2 x 3 by whatever they used.

I sold it last year then started the conversion.
