I needed a sturdy table for the shop/garage to mount my percision grinder
Managed to put something together at work.
Had he painter add some shiney stuff too
What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Mrkil,
That's also a fine comment on your ability at your job...
I know you've not been there very long, and they respect you enough to let you do a personal project, and even the painter was willing to lend his skills.
Sounds like this job is a fine fit for you at this early stage in your career!

Thanks guys
It is a decent shop. Even though the money isn't the best and there are no benefits I see it as school that I'm getting paid to go to I'm actually the only ticketed welder there. The other guys asked me why I was there if I have so many tickets. I told them "it's this or I sit at home on my couch and look at my tickets."
I'm sure it will lead to bigger and better so I am willing to climb the ladder....

Mrkil,
This advice may seem obvious, but I offer it because for some, it's not.
NEVER discuss your money.
I did a contract job in PA, me and one other hand who didn't get this rule.
We were making $28, plus perdiem.
These shop hands had been there up to 30 years, and their top super (Great guy!) was making $24 to run the show for a long time.
Imagine how he'd have felt... The shop he runs can't keep up, so we drag in some travellers for $28? and perdiem?
My dumb-ass "buddy" didn't understand this.
He was gone in two weeks.

Really nice table there. The workmanship looks excellent!
The only thing I would suggest differently, is to leave the top unpainted. Once you start using it, the paint will wear and chip and look like hell. If you are welding on it, grounding will be an issue in some cases.
I built one similar last year. To date, there is no paint on it anywhere....but I'm just lazy! lol I do want to get some paint on the legs and such.

Perfection is impossible, but if you strive for perfection, excellence is obtainable!

Yeah I learned about the money thing in my 20's. I was the one making less with more time in. He liked to complain that they didn't pay him enough. The braggered was not with us very long. (Probably because he was aweful at his job)
This table isn't for welding, which is why I painted it. I will be mounting my percision grinder that is used for making tooling for the lathe. I can also use it for tungsten grinding
