Lincoln Power mig 256 chart

Hellow Boys and Girls... Love this fourm,Search for what I needed on here,But could not find the
Information I needed... Just got out of welding school for mig,used the linoln 255's they had
With no problems. I purchased a new lincoln 256 and set up the welder according to the
Chart inside of the welder and find it way way to Hot and way way too much wire speed. Anyone
Have this problem. Using 75/25 gas .035 wire welding on .125ish mild steel. Setting are not even
Close to being correct.

Think it's a Lincoln thing. The charts and presets on the 210MP I got seem hotter than I like too.

Thank You, they should just leave the chart off the unit, don't make sense to me.

Charts are just a starting point anyway.

Mike, that's common. The settings chart in that machine assume you're doing flat welds on a bench, as that's all the engineers who advised the technical writers know how to do (if that).
Your time in class "should" have taught you how to read the puddle and listen to the sound to get it right.
You're right, the recommendations are very hot for most "real world" welding.

Often, new members don't pay attention to the "first post must be approved" thing, and repeat their post in frustration that it didn't appear on the forum.
I clean this up all the time, at least once a day, but it beats the hell out of the autospam we were getting before the approval requirement. Unless you need some new kitchen cabinets...

I thought I heard this before in school this year,Youvjust reminded of it. Even on flat stock I believe the voltage was like
3 1/2 volts too high.
