Calculating Amps

Ok If you know your wire speed you can calculate amps correct? You would take wire speed and for .023 divide by 3, .030 by 2 and .035 by 1.6 correct? If that's correct what does voltage have to do with amperage or does it effect it at all?

Voltage just controls the bead profile at the given amperage.
Too little voltage = tall, narrow, rope looking beads.
Too much voltage and it flattens and widens the bead too much and spatters a lot.
In the middle of these two extremes is the target.
Btw, 0.045" solid wire is really nice: WFS = amps
