spoolmatic for aluminum

I am looking for information on nozzles sizing for mig welding (aluminum) as I was looking at buying a new nozzle for my spoolmatic 30A spool gun.
While I understand why nozzles are shaped for specialty welding (corners etc), I am not so sure what the different nozzle opening sizes mean; 1/2" .500, 5/8" .625 or a 3/4" .750 opening for the nozzle used for basic welding purposes. Why the different opening sizes? I also am curious why there is copper or brass nozzles.
Bottom line is, what nozzle is best for basic aluminum welding say .30 filler wire?
Thank you guys.
Jim
