welding some 16 guage today new 11# wire spool this thing would go stupid. when I would pull the trigger it would arc then imediately stop and melt the wire to the tip. Clean material mostly new good ground then it would work fine. Set roller tension as per Jody's instructions . It would spot weld fine for a while then start diong the same shit. New liner in the lead. I grabbed a piece of scrap and it worked perfect. Went back to my work piece and a few tack welds later it would do the same thing. Tried 2 new tips any suggestions? All copper or whatever it is ground not the cheap one with inserts like Jody talks about replacing.
