So, bought the lincoln 210 mp with hopes of eventually repairing the upper front diff mount bracket on my truck and doing other chores around the shop.

Thanks AK.

once I get the rest of these pics up I will try to explain what i did and was trying to do. please comment again after I get this photo bucket thing to work. I appreciate all help and tips.

Unfortunately I barely have the band width to post these photos let alone to watch the tutorial videos on the site. It would be a full day road trip to get to a library with the bandwidth I need. I live in the Northern Michigan sticks!

So, the first weld was a piece of slight less than 1/16" steel welded to the backside of a piece of approx 3/16" tread plate. I am trying the upright vertical position. on this first weld I held the mig gun at just less than 90 deg to the work and 45 degrees between the two pieces. it was a 90 degree joint I created.

The second weld was a piece of just more the 1/16" tread plate to the same 3/16" inch piece tell in the same vertical upright position. On this second piece I tried to do more of an inverted V pattern than the side to side pattern I did on the first one.

In both cases I paused a little longer on the thicker piece than on the thinner.

2nd weld different view[img][/img]

3rd weld[img][/img]

3rd weld settings [img][/img]

On the third weld I upped the settings one step and concentrated more on the iverted v pattern. That is tricky and got away from me a little in the first inch or two.

I am starting from the bottom on each of these and welding upwards.
