Picked it up at a garage sale for $5.
I can get a argon hose to go in the back of a mig welder.
My question it that if the bottle is efficient, and if its the right kind of co2?

Nice find - the regulator has to be worth more than that.

Short answer yes it will work - obviously not for long though ! - it's no different from what Jodie did recently - say you have a little portable mig & need to use it somewhere then that cylinder will work fine - CO2 is CO2 no matter where it comes from - but I'd have it filled at a welding place if possible - I've seen a difference in weld appearance between gas from a weld supplier & paintball stuff - possibly there is a purity issue - or just how they purge / fill them ( maybe I imagined it )- it's not enough to worry that much over as you are hardly doing code welds with that set up.

It will work fine - nice score :)

1 pound of CO2 = 8.7 or 8.8 cubic feet of shielding gas (depends where you look)

How many pounds does that tank hold? Looks like a 2.5 lb so about 22 cubic feet.

I've run some older Forney 7014 that were awesome!

I'm biased though, love me some 7014 - I like any rod that can be run while napping :D

I pretty much run straight Forney rods and wire. They don't do half bad even for 6013. The only time I run anything other than Forney is when my brother in law gives me some surplus Lincoln Excalibur rods from work. When I am paying its all Forney.

Update....

I bought this broken argon regulator at up auction for less than $0.25.
I took the hose off and put it on the little co2 regulator, which happens to be a victor. 8-)
Now, I have a c02 set-up for around $5.... 8-)
Now I just need to build a little bracket to hold it on the back of a mig welder.

Do you guys know how much psi is in these when full??
PICS!!! :D
