mig amperage.

we hear about voltage all the time in mig but what about amperage.
i was reading about preqaulified welding procedures and essential elements needed. and amperage wasn't listed, im just sort of wondering why its ignored.
on a welder like a miller invision 354mp you have inductance settings that can change the amperage.
but what about millermatics and all other machines with selector switches for the power settings.
do they have a set amperage and does only the voltage change.
does anyone know the power values on the power settings only for say a millermatic 185 ( i dont have an owners manual)
