Absolutely.

They are of great benefit for keeping your liner clean.

We use them at work religiously, because it's a high dust environment. They serve to keep dust and grinder grit from being carried through your torch liner to the tip.

I'm not completely sold on the benefit of the lubricant... I prefer dry, meaning no residue to interfere with the weld, but I've not actually seen any negative results from using them.

I use the pads and have a very dusty environment. I find they work pretty good for keeping it clean. I have had some issues with some dirty wire, swapped it out it got moisture build up and it has a bit of oxidization on it now. So periodically my spool would stop feeding, it wasn't a kink, bad rollers, or tension. What I did was use the Weld-Aid anti-spatter spray and spray the roll lightly in the machine and it would feed great till the roll got used up down to the dryer inner portion. I was in the middle of a job and had to do something. It wasn't a listed use on the can, but i figured the pad probably got dried out and it was supposed to lube it anyways.
