Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

First thing, do you know if the welder works?

Secondly it never hurts to give an old machine a blow out with compressed air.

Have you got gas? Carbon Dioxide or a mixed argon based gas for steel.

When its turned on and gas is hooked up and wire is in correctly, 3, things will happen when you pull the trigger,

*Wire is powered up
*Wire feeds out of gun
* Gas comes out. If any of these things arn't happening there could be a problem in the machine.

I looked at that machine on google images and I can give you a few pointers although i have never used one before.

First off, You have range control and arc voltage. You select a range and then choose a voltage setting. It can be any combo, IE Low/5 or med/ 3 or or high/8 for full blast. Then adjust the wire feed speed until you get a nice crisp arc sound. They do not have to be set on any particular combo. (Although some combos will result in an unusable setting.)

I think that should get you going, First of start on some thickish steel, ^3mm, regardless of settings so you dont burn through.

Good luck, I hope this doesnt confuse you. ( I wish my mate would give me a mig)

Mick
