Is a Lincoln 180 capable of running dual shield wire?

I purchased Lincoln M71 outershield .035 to run in my Lincoln 180 for a home project. I've been able to get a decent bead but it doesn't seem to penetrate that deep like I have read it does. Is my machine too under powered for this wire.

You should refer to this for proper setup for that wire:

CTWD is pretty important with these types of wires.

I have a feeling that machine just doesn't have the necessary voltage to actually run 71M properly. I tried to look up your owners manual to look for a volt amp curve, and one isn't provided in that manual I found on line. But it does say that at 130 amps, you are only producing 20 volts (which is really marginal) and it has a 30% duty cycle at 130 amps. I used to run this stuff (before switching to the 045 wire) at about 24 volts and 300 IPM (150-ish amps)
