Hello,
I hope one of you can help with this query. I own an ESAB EMP 215, according to the specifications of this machine I can use it to weld 0.045" flux cored wire, gas less. I know that I would have to get the appropriate tips and knurled mig roller. My question to you is, do I need to buy a different mig gun or can I use the one that comes with this machine? Has any one welded with this size or type of wire? And if so, how satisfied were you with the results.

The EMP215 can weld hard wire MIG (GMAW) or flux cored wire (FCAW), so you'll need to set the machine's polarity to match your process. FCAW is electrode negative, GMAW is electrode positive. The owner's manual will describe how to change polarity.
Good luck with it, let us know how it goes!
