Hey there. I'm welding some parts that need a 1/2 weld. I'm using 1/16 wire, on a fillet of 7/8 and 3/8 steel. I haven't done this in a long time,(I've been mainly tig welding ). I'm tring to do in one pass or one on top of the other, but the weld keeps sagging. I have the machine set at 32-350 and gas at 35.

A picture would be helpful to diagnose.

I used to do those for the flanges between the keel plate and the deck plate on barges all of the time.

(using flux core/gas shielded)
350 ipm. at about 27.5V, Pulling the gun, shooting the wire into the joint at a shallow angle (about 20 degrees) and oscillating clockwise to wash the pool up the wall a little worked really well.

Had shield gas at 40-45.

I'll have to take pictures next week at work. I haven't done anything bigger then say a 3/8 weld in a long time and I'm out of practice. The down fall of doing production work.
