How do you get rid of cold roll on dual shield?

I took a weld test today and I kept getting cold roll. Would voltage, wire feed speed or gun angle?

My suggestion would either be too much wire, not enough voltage or too fast on travel speed. If the material won't stand for more heat try cutting back on your wire speed.

A good test setting I've used for .045 is 22.5-23V, wire feed at about 235 with about 1/2" stick out, maybe a little more. Slight drag angle, less than 10deg.
The right stick out is really important with dual shield. It takes a little playing with to get "just right".

i would get a test scrap and start playing with settings and stick out to figure out the issue.. start out with what you have for settings now and then crank the settings higher or lower on voltage and wire speed.. also if what you are welding is cold ie the themp is cold enough to warrent a jacket for you try a little preheat.. summer settings wont always work in the winter no matter where you live..
