Anybody have any experience with the Bernard™ Clean Air™ Fume Extraction Guns? They normally retail for over $1000 but I found a deal on eBay for a brand new, unused, 400amp gun for $250. I could not resist the price. I've heard that you can hook up a simple shop vac and blow the fumes outside of your shop. If this works, I think I may have stumbled into a really cheap way to get the fumes out of my shop at the source. I'm planning on using it with dual shield and straight flux core wire.

We use Binzel extraction guns. They are the greatest invention since sliced bread. They can suck your shielding gas away, if the inside shroud gets worn, or you get into a tight spot, once you fine tune the set up, it's off and racing. On a shop vac you may need to adjust/retard suction somehow. Either way, they are awesome sauce.

The model gun I have has a suction adjustment at the nozzle and below the neck for gas use. The gun is very large....and can not be used in tight places.

What was the greatest thing before sliced bread?
Bread knife?
No.
MASSIVE sandwiches.
