Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my equipment and to make the wallet hurt a little less I'd like to sell what I currently have. Unfortunately I really don't know what to ask for it.
I have an older Hobart Handler 175 that's seen light to moderate use. It has a nice stand that I built with it and bottle. I know what something similar sells new but have never sold any welding equipment to know what a good asking price is.
I searched through Craig's List and ebay and most of what I found there seemed to be way over priced for used equipment (not much less than new). I have a friend that wants it but doesn't want to make an offer but I'm hesitant to ask too much without knowing what they're worth.
The machine is in good shape and I had planned to sell the stand and bottle with it at a price around $250-$300 but didn't want to be too high or lowball myself. so any advice you care to give would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your bottle alone is worth a 100 or two.
I'd say $4-500 is fair for the whole package.

Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

I just got home from the LWS and brought with me my receipt for a 90 cf tank of 75/25. Full tank and I own it for $ 225. Add in the 12 lb spool of 70s wire and tax for a grand total of $285.
I have more questions than answers

I think $500.00 would be a great deal. Do you own the bottle or did you get it from a weld shop. I just have a small 60 bottle and I paid $121 deposit + the fill. I'm not sure if the bottle is mine to sell. Good luck !
How big is the bottle. Remember you get full new price credit on your existing bottle if you trade in for a bigger bottle. Just pay the difference and whatever the cost of the gas you want is. Doesn't make sense to me too sell an owned bottle. You can go the other way and downsize too
It's a small 20cf bottle. I talked to the AirGas shop by my house and they sell those for $80. Like you said though, they'll give me $80 for trade in if I upgrade to a bigger bottle so I priced the MIG with and without the bottle.

Lol, 20 size bottle is a joke.
I figured it was a 80 or better. That's what I based my price off.
