Your welder is explosion proof but not the camera....
...must be a cool new type of welder that throws cold sparks down your back on a hot day - pretty nice

Here some pics at todays work. Mig welded inside/outside by Fronius mig pulse.. I was so sceptic could i do this welding (normaly these can be rolled) no it was that 5g and about 6.80m weld both side but it went bretty decend and passed the tests I love do this challengin welds but then when you are realy in that job and feel the heat by poor weld/fit and know it will tested. But im off the hook once agen

You appear to be rebuilding the front jacket, at the 5th wheel plate, and the front head is next?
What service is the trailer? (LIN, LOX, LAR, CO2? LHY?)

Its a Jet-fuel trailer. Yep front head is next, but first i weld one (dont know what is it called Eng) that whic slows liquid from moving so widely inside that tank. Everyday that trailer owner comes to see what im doing. Im pretty bleased whit that bead appearence eaven its not so relative then having sound weld, but i know that next time the owner sees it he will see the welds and i think he will see me litle bit better welder Its was challengive to weld that 4-7clok not have weld build up too much. Learned ton from this project and it hasnt end yeat. There one pic more ( no tenssion to show off but im just happy for my hand work so far:)

In English they are called "liquid load splashy stoppers" lol joking. In Australia, they are called baffles.

Yep, Baffles.
The only trailers I work on that don't have them are liquid Hydrogen. That stuff is so light, it doesn't need "sloshy-stoppers". I suppose liquid Helium trailers don't have them either, but I don't know, as we've not yet seen any.

Here is my first attempt at aluminium and my first actual welding project from scratch. I wasn't going to post it because I was embarrassed lol but it does the job and I can only get better I guess

Cosi,
I don't see anything to be embarrased about there. Looks great to me! It is nice to see the alum welding carts as opposed to all the steel ones. What welding machine do you have there? That's not one sold in the States that I am aware of anyway.

Here some Stainless mig welds. Looking my old welds (iphone) and same kind joint and its great to see the difference. And i try write some of the settings down to later use. New Pulse/Syn machines has so much extra adjusts to arc chartericks for different situations.

Unfortunately the turnaround I am involved in had a break due to a serious accident but this gave me a few days to rest.
I saw a video of a guy doing it so I figured why not?

The contamination on the base metal is because I did not purge the hoses after not having used the welding machine for almost a month and this was the first thing I welded.

That technique gives a unique look you just can't get any other way. Very nice

BWR...how much of that bridge was done in the field? In the forest preserves around here they pre-fab them and put them in with a truck/crane. I have been wanting to build something like that for the creek that cuts my property in half. Very cool and I'll be it was fun.

Thanks guys, and yea it was a blast building it. It had been a long time since I done that kinda work, it was a good change of pace. We built it in the shop and then hauled it over and set it. The only welding I did in the field was the anchor plates.
Here's a project I did a few days ago. My employee managed to break the shaft and bend the pillars on our disc. So I ordered new shaft, and new pillars. Pillars not in stock at the factory nor had they any date as to when they were going to make new ones... Nice...
So I ordered the shaft, and put the front pillar under my 30 T shop press and straightened it and welded some reinforcements to it. The rear one though, was bend AND twisted. So I cut the middle section out, welded 2 pieces of 15 cm X 2 cm thick plate to each other, cut the sides in the shape of the pillar and used the cut of pieces for reinforcements.
The disc is back in business

That's one of the great things about being a welder/fabricator. "We don't have that in stock" is just an inconvenience, not a problem!
