the question was brought up to us , at what gun angle do you hold your gun when testing, or running a vertical up on A36 steel in pulse mode. Tony

Tony, I've never done pulse, but in hard-wire and dual-shield, I've always preferred a 10-15* "push" on 3G/3F welds.
