It separates the men from the boys :o ;) There are a lot of features on the 350MP but once you learn them, they will actually help you. Take setting "40" I believe it is, it will adjust the setting to compensate for your stick out and angle so you in theory will constantly have the same amperage. Then there is the aluminum settings, fun stuff!!

Well for some reason, I am still drawn to the Miller, even if it costs more... For me, they even LOOK better! Many have plugged the Lincoln, but I'm a Miller guy .... just like I'm GM not Ford fan!

The 350P has all I need/want. Now if I can just find a good used one. The potential deal I have on the Invision 352MPa Plus package is about the same price as a new 350P Just a step up!!!

The more time I spend trying to decide on just what I want or can get, the more options I try to rationalize... currently I am directing my interest towards a used XMT 304CC/CV or XMT 350CC/CV ($1000-$1400) and possibly a new 24A wire-feeder with the Bernard Q-gun (951195 ~$1800).
The new 24A with digital readout and pre/post flow and spot control (951195) is cheaper than adding the field upgrades to the base 24A ($1320)/22A ($1040) ... I like the idea of having the digital display... 24A has the 4-roller feed.
Field upgrade module costs:
  1. Voltage control - $150 (included in 24A)
  2. Run-in control - $272 (included in 24A)
  3. Preflow/Postflow and Spot Control - $291
  4. Digital display - $498
  5. Optoma pulse control - Used $???
At projected $2800-$3200, it will cost more than a new 252 ($2300), less than a 350P ($4200), however with much more functionality and capabilities.

A used Invision 352MPa/S-74MPa Plus package is also under consideration, but price and sales tax are issues... probably closer to $4K

Finally made a decision... I found a rather pristine 2008 MM350P with an XR-AlumaPro gun for less than $3K

Time to start looking for a deal on a Bernard Q300

The MM350P is here! I had to switch to 230V ... looked pretty clean inside .... once I get a steel gun... I can burn some wire... That 6/4 power cord was a bear to get the NEMA 6-50P plug on! Time to get a longer cord on it, maybe a 25ft 8/3

Going tomorrow to look over remaining stuff... got the MM350P from a business closing... Supposed to be able to get some spools of wire and the rest is unknown... they have to be out in 2-weeks...

If they have some aluminum wire, I have Argon, so I'll be able to run some aluminum beads and some Pulse!... I hope they have a Q300 laying around...

Now the next issue is GASSES......
  • I have Argon for the TIG, may need to consider going to a T bottle.
I have C25 and will need to stay with that
I will need to get 90/10 or 98/2
For Spray, what is the difference in using 90/10 or 98/2 ... the OM for the 350P says 90/10

Time to edit the sig line bro...
