Anyone have a technique for welding horizontal? Gravity keeps wanting to pull my puddle down.

Some yes .....some no.

I am guessing that you really mean "vertical" welding? What type of welding are you doing? Mig? Tig? Stick? Would love to help with more info... ;)

Go to the top of this page and click on the logo "WeldingTipsandTricks.com" and it will take you to the main menu.

Then check out the Mig welding tips and tricks. Jody has all kinds of videos that will show you how to weld vertical and horizontal or any way you want!

They are excellent videos and Jody does a great job of making his points about welding without a lot of BS. HE just does it and shows you how.

I think you're talking about overhead horizontal welding is that correct? If so the trick is to turn the heat down a little and slow down. You want the puddle to freeze almost immediately after moving forward but not so quickly as to cause a cold weld. It's one of the toughest welds to do and takes practice so don't get discouraged if it's causing you problems, they cause everyone problems.
