Hello,

As I'm still into the theory, I read, mostly with 'American' vendors, that protecting oneself using insulation carpet is not neglectable.
Before heading practice, I'm going to check and repair my home grounding circuit (to get it back to beneath 30 Ohms) and double check all my wall plug's in the garage.
This being said, I seldom or almost never see people with a carpet under there feet. Sometimes I do, but it's more for comfort rather than insulation.
So I would have liked your opinion's. It can never harm to have one. I'm thinking about a fibreglass 'treads' to put on the floor.
Bear in mind, I do agree, nothing beats personal protection like quality gloves, clothes, shoes!

Thanks in advance

Never come across that. I know what you mean about comfort matting, or anti fatigue mats. Never for any other reason unless possible wet conditions. I've also seen welders working on a steel floor. That being said, all other electrical precautions are taken.

I don't think you need to worry about insulating yourself from shock. I sit on a steel stool that sits on concrete never worry about shock. Heck, when I began to stick weld, at 14, I welded barefooted!! Never got shocked.

Though I do have an occasional tick in my shoulder. :D

i've only had carpet down for the electrical workbench. it comes on handy for that :o

i would have it anywhere near welders as it will be on fire or melted very quickly.
tweak it until it breaks
