New to the site. Been welded large engine mounts for years with 5/8 and 3/4 mild steel
Miller 252 .045 wire 75/25 set at full 29.5 and 375 wire speed
Read a post from Jody about less splatter with 90/10. So I have now switched
It seams I may have gone from arc to spray? I am trying to get it dialed in
Any help would be appreciated
My previous welds were very nice but a lot of splatter with a lot of clean up
Mounts are then powder coated shiny white. Trying to save time on clean up and they need to be strong.

In applications like that in Australia, we use a tri mix gas with a bit of oxygen in it. You can get it down to a absolutely beautiful spray with not a dot of spatter. Of your parts are clean before hand (shot blasted) you can even go to an S4 wire which runs even smoother. I can't tell you exactly the settings, as we just cranked it up and go for it.
