Need a quick tip on welding this up. I have steel and 309ss rods? Any ballpark machine settings would be appreciated. I know to apply the heat mostly to the thick piece and to wear my respirator when grinding and welding due to the galvanized metal.

Try the 309 at about 70 amps. That's not gona be pretty whatever you try between the galvanize and the cast beam clamp. Have you ever heard of the Appleton clamps? There like a regular beam clamp but have an extra taped hole in the back.
