Tig requires an inert atmosphere (some exceptions, but not for beginners) so no, the active nature of the co2 will destroy the electrode.

Welcome, s.dunkin,

The short and long answer is "no".

100% argon, for all things steel, or up to 60% helium/40% argon for aluminum.

There are unusual mixes for special purposes, such as 98%Ar/2%H for heavy stainless.

If you're beginning, assume 100% argon for anything TIG.
