some random shots of practice since I've been home..Headin back to tx in a couple weeks...Got some 2.75 x .625 monsters comin..The test fluors givin....

It is great to see you here again!! I am glad things are working out well for you. From what I see in those pics you are doing better at GTAW pipe than I am. The best of luck on your next test. I believe you will be fine but we will help out anyway we can. How are you liking your Lincoln? Share some of your experiences with us from the road when you can.

Thanks J....Good to be back at the house..I nicknamed the lincoln "honeybadger".....Cuz it don't give a SH*#....It'll eat anything you feed it'' LOL..Man that things nice...The little everlast 160sth..is a nice tig machine... but the 275s does it all.. The pics are 2" 80 & 4" 40 ... everythings 6G...Tx was great. (fraq sand plant)...Went out as a millwright..after a week was chained to the fab table.WELDING.(THAT MADE ME FEEL GOOD)....designed/fabed/welded sprayer systems for the "shakers".. Catwalks..Piping systems..Screw pipe..Even got to do some HDPP....It wasa blast..The guys/kids.. named me "Grandpaw"..That stopped when Id climb up faster than they cud man lift up..Go figure huh...lmao..Im goin to tx to test for fluor...I dont gv a dam bout the money...Getin in that FREE craft schools wat im after...THEN...this crap im producin will start to look like I know it can.......Here's a few more shots of me playin..

Most of these welds look acceptable.
Some suggestions if I may:
Try making smaller but faster motions when weaving on the filler passes, on 6G you might even do a double motion on the upper portion of the bevel to help melt the base metal better and ensure you get a more uniform fill pass. However your filler passes look just fine.
Watch out for the arc strikes, the last photo of your first post would be a fail because of them according to most codes.
Finally use a little less filler on the cap, it looks better and also makes walking the cup on the cap easier since there is more uniform weld reinforcement.
Keep practicing you will get there and when you do, keep practicing to stay there :)
