I tig weld as a hobby I weld 304 stainless and 1018 cold rolled. I use 308 .030 rod and er70s2. I maybe go through 5 rods per week so not much welding. I'm in a 1200 square foot garage with good ventilation. .. my question is should I be wearing some kind of mask to prevent me from breathing in the fumes of welding either of these metals or the dust from belt grinding them. Thanks

Hey,

Welcome to the show. Breathing protection while welding is always a good idea. For the little welding you are doing, 3m make some good disposable respirators, specifically designed for welding. that are good for a while (until they go manky) they have an exhalation valve at the bottom so your glasses don't fog up.
