Tig welding tips, questions, equipment, applications, instructions, techniques, tig welding machines, troubleshooting tig welding process
I have Tigged up some SS with pretty good results, but I took the advice of a friend and the guy who puts on this website, Jody? And started with aluminum, then moved on to SS. If so, he's defiantly the best help/welder I've ever run across, so props to u man! At any rate, I was welding on some SS that is 1/16" thick with a 3/32" tungsten ,2% Thor and a # 8 cup. My welds look pretty good just looked like to me that they were a little hot, so I backed off the heat and then they looked like they weren't penetrating as much as I think it should. So my question is, should I be using 1/16" tungsten with SS sheet metal? Should I use a bigger cup? Any input would be grand. Thanks
