Welding Tips and Tricks

Just got my first gas lens and it seems basically just a micro mesh screen. I went to the store and found a ladle with a micro mesh SS screen, cut it out and stuck it in a #7 cup(#26 torch). Will it work?

if you do it right and cut the screen just the right size where it will wedge and fit snugly in the cup, it will work.

Thanks Jody. I just cut out and fit it last night. I wasn't sure if I needed the larger lens style cup or the smaller cup would work.

I'm going to do some practicing as soon as the rain stops.
