Titanium weld to hot

Hi Guy`s and Gal`s.
Been playing around with some titanium tubing the last month or so, i work in the wheelchair industry and have benn welding some titanium tube. The wall thickness of the tube varies from 0.89mm to 1.30mm, got the welding down pat, but im still getting that dark blue heat surround even with a nice shiny silver weld. Im running the machine around 40-45 amps on full pedal anything under that wont give me a good pool, anything over that and all hell breaks loose. Im only welding a 5mm run at a time to allow the heat to dissipate but i have not tried the pulse settings yet. Would like to try and get it a bit better before i use pulse, im from the old school and want to get it right the hard way.
