Broke a tap off in a workpiece.
Looked at you video on how to TIG weld a nut to a broken stud/tap.
Followed your instructions and no worries - got the little sucker out.

Taps sometimes just fatigue .

By necessity thread taps are very hard and brittle. Any side loading when turning them can cause them to fracture. Jody's tips are valuable IME and I too thank him for sharing his expertise and real world experience.
