Sometimes when i first start tig welding on aluminum the filler rod melts but gets all messy and won't flow.
Am i not waiting long enough beforevi introduce the filler rod?

Do you see a clean puddle, with mirror like properties where you can actually see the reflection of the tungsten tip?

Main thing with tig welding especially on aluminum is wait until there is that shiny puddle. You don't Dan you filler in a puddle, but warm metal, then all you are going to get is balled up filler metal hanging onto your peice. Keep your arc length short and run them amps and you should get a puddle in only a couple of seconds of not you may not have enough amps going into your metal.
