attached is a photo of my first unit I bought this off of Craigslist on a whim I really wanted to get him to TIG welding and this was the cheapest option at the time.I have searched the internet and cannot really find anything out about it.if anybody has any information or experience with this unit please let me know.

I replaced it with a L-tec squarewave but it was neat. 18 torch with a tank underneath to hold coolant. A procon pump to circulate the coolant. Thunderbolt as the powersource. It could start an arc about 3/8 away from the metal.

Yeah,

I learned to TIG not that long ago on a DC unit that came with HF but had no foot pedal. The pedal was an option that I never thought was too important on various steels.

But on AC TIG for aluminum a pedal is more important. However, you have the ability to do some AC TIG aluminum with that Thunderbolt unit, I believe, which is made even easier with the HF box now.

So, have you tried it on aluminum yet, even with no pedal?

I'll bet running beads in shorter segments would be quite doable on that setup. And that HF box seems to have a gas solenoid, which is nice.

You are absolutely right, ran ok with shorter welds on aluminum. It worked with the thunderbolt. Gas solenoid worked well. No foot pedal.
