Right now I just have a Huntsman. Would you guys recommend trying a gold lens for it? I just have a standard black shade 10

My buddy does have one of these that is willing to let me test drive

I really like the ESAB 6-13 AD/XL. It has a great viewing area, and the clarity is amazing! You can actually see the blue spark come off the tungsten! When you are welding aluminum-ity remains silver-you just wait for it to turn shiny on the puddle, then start moving. Best hood I have for tig!
What color is the view with this?

Thanks for mentioning ESAB helmets, I just looked them up they seem pretty nice.
I have an older Fibre-Metal from high school that is pinstriped, and for auto darkening I have one I got from Northern Tool that I've had for like 10 years now at least. Other than new batteries a couple times I haven't had to do anything to it. It's been dropped too I used it in the field all the time.
I don't think they are made any more so I am looking for a potential replacement.

I do like the Fibre metal passive helmet too though, brings back memories and a sore neck lol.
More for MIG though, for TIG I'm still at the stage of liking the auto helmet until I get a little better.

I use this:

Four sensors, a switch for upper and lower grades, "on the fly" filter changing with the knob, grind setting, two batteries (with test button), cheater lens clips inside, light weight....(did that sound like a sales pitch? )

Yes, Speedglas 9100 is definitely the best I've had. Took a bit of setting up but once done, very comfortable and it switches off automatically after 20 mins. when not used.
