Phenomenal looking job. Can sum up in one word "Craftsmanship". In my experience I see a lot of the young generation happy with "good enough". It's all in the details.

I'm noticing a slight difference in the ripples and a different HAZ colouration in these latest pics,
What material are you welding on in these pics?

This isn't even close to the work others have posted here, but I am proud of it none the less. It's the last one for quite a while. We made 3 test articles, 4 for qualifying and 4 for flight. 12 welds each at 110" each weld.

Bitter sweet as it is, it was good to say "Finished!"

Didn't weld it today but this is something I have always had or a similar version. My truck is used for business and family. When I do leave the office to do some real work I call this my quick rig. It is on a 4ftx4ft skid that can be loaded into the bed of my truck or on a trailer with a forklift or overhead crane. The whole package weighs 716 lbs when the welder is full of fuel. It contains my power source (Miller Trailblazer) my torch setup, air compressor, lights, scratch TIG and Spoolmatic 30A. One thing I just added was safety rings on my bottles so I just leave the regulators on full time (quick disconnects for the torch end).

To answer your question, it is one of the cryo fuel tank domes for the SLS rocket core stage. This one in particular is the aft LOX dome. Once (if) the core stage is complete, the Orion capsule will be stacked on top of the core stage and launched into deep space. The first 2 missions will be to the moon and back. After that, Mars.

A little fast and dirty intake job for a friend. It had a Nitrous outlet puck installed and a direct port nitrous system, we are removing both and going with a Nitrous Outlet stinger plate. I needed to weld up all the holes from previous nitrous installs. I will post finished pictures once it's complete.

One of our buddies dirtbike engine broke a small piece off the bottom of the piston...it mushed around under the crank, causing about 6 cracks in the case that were from 1/4" to 1/2" . Welded them up. Made some backing out of 4" copper pipe and copper buss bar bend to the radius shape of the case . Guy did about 4 rides and one race on it , holding so far .
They told me it was Magnesium ...did the vinegar test on a sanded spot , no bubbles .

White vinegar will bubble on magnesium. It's ok craig, I didn't know about it either till I looked it up.

I've welded up plenty of ending cases always AL
clutch covers and ignition covers are sometimes Mag
but haven't come across center cases in mag.

They were so sure it was magnesium... anyway, I sanded a little spot clean and put some vinegar...no bubbles.

Started a new project, finally making my own power rack. Gonna be overkill out of 3x3 .125 but first the bar hooks out of 1/4. Do these welds look ok to you guys? The Miller wizard called for 225-300 amps. I set the Dynasty to 200 and on the outside joints it seems to be too much to me but according to Miller it's not enough. Proud if the machine, the fan never even kicked on high and I was using full jam at 200 amps for a good hour.

Thanks for all the positive feedback

While the $15k in tools does make it a LOT more pleasant to build, It can be built with about $150 worth of tools (excluding the welder):
-hack saw
-hand file
-tap
-hand drill
-countersink bit
-mallet
-hand grinder with flap disc
-bench vise

I'll post up a video (hopefully within a week) on how to build one of these from scratch, along with the CNC machining:
