Tig welding tips, questions, equipment, applications, instructions, techniques, tig welding machines, troubleshooting tig welding process
I have a 160STH and I'm looking at replacing my power cord from the one that came with the machine. The power cord I am looking at is the WP-17 Superflex. My question is how does the gas line connect to this powercable? It looks like it has an opening down the middle for gas, but how do I connect it to the machine? Right now I have separate cables for gas and power. Do I need some kind of adapter or mixer to combine the power and gas from the machine before it connects to the new cable? Thanks in advance for the help.

My Metalmaster 215 has a dinse 35 power plug that has a gas line running out of its side...might be similar to what you need. I'll get a photo up here asap.

This is a picture of what you need from CK's website under the ass. tab, bolt on adapters.

I thought that was for converting a stick machine to scratch start tig. I saw a video that showed a dinse connector with an argon jumper. It seemed more like what I needed. Opinions?

Go to CK worldwide's site under the cables and connector tab and they list quite a few different dinse connections there.

This is what I have.
Dinse 35-70 with gas line elbow out the side. Supplied as standard by my welding supply guy.

Again using CK worldwide for the information, they have this page of adapters for gas cooled, single hose application adapters: http://www.ckworldwide.com/dinse-gas-cooled.html
If you have a ~1/2" DINSE connector, and a gas fitting next to it, it looks like it should use what they call a SL2-35 adapter.

I carry a tig rig on my truck with the first adapter Len posted it works good you just clamp on to it with a regular stick welding stinger. I'd guess your welder came with one that has the Dinse on it. Another great thing about these is you can change the gas hose from the fitting to the tank and make it as long as you want. I have 2 25ft hoses so I can leave the bottle on the ground when I'm up in a rack or down in a hole.
I have more questions than answers
