Tig welding an overflow tank

Its been quite a while since Ive posted anything on the forum. I made an aluminum overflow tank for my truck using Jody and Roy's helpful tips. I have approx. 45 hrs or so tig welding and I can honestly say I wouldn't be where I am at now with all the helpful videos from jody and the forums tips as well. Thanks again here are a couple of recent pics as well as a tip I have for anyone who cannot afford a car lift like I cant.

Looks like it coming around nicely....

What's done to the truck? I see the large amount of meat in the back, what's it run?
I weld stainless, stainless and more stainless...Food Industry, sanitary process piping, vessels, whatever is needed, I like to make stuff.

Very nice welds for someone with only 45 hours of weld time. Did you do the chassis work on the S15?

The truck runs 9's on a 250 shot. I did not do the majority of the chassis work. Thanks for all the comments I hate to tell you this but I was getting frustrated with tig very early on and im glad im still sticking to it. Just about sold my machine.

One note: Other than just the fun of welding and the practice time, you may be able to get a local shop for a few $$ to bend the metal on a box and save some welding time.

Hollywood, I think the most aesthetic thing is consistency in this case. If you start at the bottom left corner for instance, and weld to the top left, go the same direction all the way around. Same thing on the long seams, Weld them in the same direction.

For the corners on the short side, if you can manage it, wrap the corner a little bit, and then you're starting on a seam, and not so much on the corner itself.

Will be making up some overflows for my race bike when my skills are up to scratch but of course being a bike, they will just be small tanks. Considering just using aluminium tube and welding plate onto the ends.

Hope they look half as good as your square tanks, Hollywood.
