Mike,
First you are doing great. To think how far you have come in a short amount of time. Before I comment know that I am not that great at GTAW pipe and can only speak from what I see. It looks like the GTAW fill pass might be a little cold, the toes are not wet in very well. I don't think it is failing because of the arc force from the 7018 should be able to fill that in but just a observation. I believe the SMAW passes are fine and cannot fail them based on my knowledge of ASME IV. However, some might want the passes to flow a little better. Keep it up and knock em dead!!

Mike,
I think what I've seen appears to be ready for x-ray. You're well on your way. Just don't screw up that 7018-out, and you're golden!
Aleksi is right. You just have to find your style. We all do it a bit different. Take everything you've learned, and all the tips you've picked up, and figure out what works for you, and you've found your style. (And keep watching and learning from others, to refine your style!)

Mike,
I am game with your idea. I don't mind a pic of myself, I just don't like hearing my voice in videos or recordings so we will stop at pictures.
Now tell them all about passing your weld test!!

If that's really you, I don't think you need a hammer to put nails in, just push them in with your fingers....

Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

Ok I'll get 3 out of the way in one shot. Right to left is me, GreinTime and Hindsight2020. Now that should make you wish your mine's eye was an Etch-a-sketch that you could shake clean.

Here's a really old picture...
Maybe I'll start a "rougues gallery" topic for this.
It might be fun.

That was 15 [Edit--- 20!] years ago...
I don't have large dogs any more.
It was stunning how cheap those Great Danes were to feed after they were done growing.
I did start the "rogues gallery"... in "Shop Talk".
