Will be welding 1/4" carbon steel round stock mesh strainer basket for weld test, round stock to round stock, long taper the end for small arc and puddle, should i blunt the end or leave to a point? Advice guys! THANK YOU!

For anything but aluminum, you should be able to "tattoo" with the tungsten. The crisper the point, the more control you have over where the arc goes.
