Jody, thank you very much for giving us a single place to source a ton of free information.
I have personally learned a good deal and whats more is I've learned how to spot `less than ideal` weld beads, etc.
Currently I'm interested in seeing some videos from you geared beyond the basics.
What I'm struggling with is keeping the width of the beads at a minimum while having ideal penetration.
I'm to the point of playing with the wave shapes (Dynasty 350DX) but failing at making narrow beads with worthy penetration.

jason,
I will be working on lots of videos soon but it takes a lot of time to make them.
a few things to try that will help you to narrow your beads and still get penetration...
increase the ac balance to put more dcen in the mix
increase the ac frequency
use 80/20 helium argon
lastly...and this bill probably make as much difference as anything...
use a #5 tig cup and turn your shielding gas down to about 10 cfh
let us know what works

Thanks! I've ordered a variety of cups.
I'd like to post my progress in the weeks to come.
UPDATE:
#5 cups and some new gas lens arrived... but the damn welder is on the fritz!
Got a good deal on an Aerowave, should be freighted tomorrow(very excited about this one).
