Welding Tips and Tricks

Whatcing that Jody welding different type rods. I became curious what kind of bead i could lay down. And this was ESAB rods it was 63.?? but anyway 3,2 mm 125Amps makes nice looking weld.

A few pic of 6013/6012 jobs. 3.25mm for joints, and 2.5 for the welded writing. About 90-130amps.

You guy's evidently have some nice 6013....

Washington Alloy is good 6013 and only $2 per pound around here

Great looking welds guys. Like Jody said in his last video, I admire those who use 6013 welding pipe. I need to try is some time.

Unless Esab markets using different number systems around the world if it were 6013 the number would be 46.00 - rods starting 63.XX are in the austenitic stainless range & under the generic term " Almat " - maybe the numbers are different in the UK ?

Here's a bad one. I worked on an unrelated job on this trailer but could not let this go.

YEAP My mistake it was 43.32 When you get that rod at right angel runs nice beads, but that slag is easily in front of the budle if the rod Angel is too litle. That "worm hole effect comes bretty easily whit thees Esab 6013rods"

Easy to mistake - either they print those numbers smaller or my eyes are getting worse ! - never used the 43.32 - most suppliers here tend to stock the 46.00 ( Miltrode ) not sure what the difference is in use - does'nt look much difference on the Esab website - whatever the rod it's a very good looking weld - just don't start AK off about 6013 !

Esab also do a 6013 numbered OK 43.32 , cant say i have ever used them as i always turn to Murex Vodex or Vortec Marine when i want a good 6013
