Hello all,
I have a question about this arc welder.
1. Is it a ok machine
2. Is it worth $80.00
It appears to be in very good condition it is an A/C model only. I am going to look at it at 9:30 so input fast would be great.
Any help would be appreciated.

The good thing about transformer welders is that they are so simple, they're usually bullet proof. As long as the fan is working, and animals haven't destroyed the internal wiring it should be good to go. I haven't priced them but I took a quick look on ebay's closed auctions (to find the deal's closing price) and didn't see any- but you might try a different series of search terms.

Also, sites such as claz.org and freetoolshopper.com can get you an idea of what prices are. I'd definitely bring a hood and some rods and light up the machine before buying!

$80 if it works, I'd take it.

Ok I bought it. I'd did not have the right plug on it but no biggie. I can change that. I took the plug off hooked to my generator. I left it on the lowest setting and boomya I was welding. Keep in mind this is my first ever welds. It looks so much easier on you tube lol. Now i just need to practice till I pick up a mig welder. Thanks for the advise gents. Here is a pic of my madness.

Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it.
