Hey everyone. Just looking for some tips on stick welding some pipe saddle joints. I am running off of a miller bobcat 250 and have access to 5/32 6010 and 1/8 7018 rods. I’m used to mig and tig from my job, haven’t ran stick in a while. Any tips for these saddle joints?

From all my pipe welding experience, they're pretty eaazy....jk I'm no welder. But I will say it would probably help out if you disclose the pipe diameter and schedule, so others who are versed in this area can related to what you're up againnst.

Bevel, tack in 4 places, then run 7018 vertical up from the lowest part of the saddle. Covers lots of scenarios. If it's code work, read the WPS and follow it.
