Helmet vision

I have a hard time seeing through my auto darkening helmet on some welds. I get tired of it and end up turning the shade down to 9. Does better work-space lighting help? I also saw some Ytube vids about lights that you can attach to your helmet -- are they any good?

Those cheap HF halogen work lights are very good for this. I wouldn’t get the LED type because you’re more expensive and you’re weld splatter will start pitting up the glass no matter what you choose. I found that those are so bright place nearby shining right on the object that I could even see through a regular shade 10 reasonably. The other good feature is they run so hot they give you a little bit warmth if you’re freezing your tukus [emoji3063] off.

Be careful with turning down lens shade just because you can't see.
Miller sells a lighting kit for helmets,

you could try that.
