Ok so here is what I have to do .
1)3F uphill SMAW 7018 1/8 6 stringers Tee joint must be tacked 90 degrees
2) 3F uphill SMAW 7018 1/8 3 pass weave Tee joint must be tacked 90 degrees
3) 2F SMAW 7018 3/32 6 beads stringers
What a good amperage for these? I'm welding on 1/4 steel

2) Same as above.
3) Around 90amps. Take or give 10.
Dunk the plates in water between EACH pass. If possible.
Just my opinion.
But what would I know
Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

Apparently not much man, as I've seen you throw a disclaimer in like that the last few posts of yours I've seen. What gives? Normally you're so self-assured in your responses and advice.AKweldshop wrote: Just my opinion.

No two weldors weld alike.
My advice works for me, but doesn't always work for others....

John's officially a grown-ass man.
He acknowledged the "your mileage may vary" factor in his reply.
Give credit where it's due.

Yes, but your all of the sudden self-deprecating attitude is strange, and it almost sounds like you are fishing for validation from more knowledgeable members when offering advice to newer members. Just offer advice without the disclaimer at the end. You can say the same thing without just hanging it out there at the end, all alone like a bastion of uncertainty.

It's New Year's Eve, there are fireworks going off throughout my neighborhood, and I'm rather intoxicated.GreinTime wrote:Yes, but your all of the sudden self-deprecating attitude is strange, and it almost sounds like you are fishing for validation from more knowledgeable members when offering advice to newer members. It's five minutes to midnight, and my entire neighborhood sounds like a war zone from the fireworks.
Pretty cool.
